Exclusion Groups for Targeted Email Blasts

How do I use exclusion groups when creating an email blast?

Users can now exclude one or more groups of leads (Tags) when creating an email blast — allowing more precise control over who receives campaign emails.

🧩 What’s New

When selecting recipients for an email blast, you can now define both:
  • Primary recipient groups — such as Tags, Stages, or Properties
  • Exclusion groups — one or more Tags you want to omit from the campaign
The system will automatically remove any leads that appear in both your selected recipient and exclusion groups.

💡 Why It Matters

This enhancement gives users greater flexibility and control when managing large or segmented email campaigns — ensuring that messages only reach the intended audience while reducing the risk of unwanted sends.

🔍 Example:
1. Select your desired  “Send to” audience. This section allows selecting tags, individual properties with stages, or multiple properties. Check the corresponding box next to the group(s) you wish to send the email blast to:
2. Click the Optional “Do not send to” dropdown to select the audience you wish to exclude from his email blast. The Do not send to section is limited to tags only. Both sections display the same list of available tags:
3. In the final step before sending your campaign, review and confirm the final count of estimated recipients and leads the campaign will not be sent to:

  • Exclude specific lead groups (Tags) from your recipient list.
  • Automatic filtering of overlapping contacts between included and excluded groups.
  • Dynamic recipient count updates — see the total before and after exclusions.
  • Clear warning if exclusions result in zero recipients.
