The flyer editor now works much like the design tools you already know. You can edit several elements at once, line things up precisely, copy and paste across pages, and group elements together. This article walks through each tool, with a shortcut list at the end.
Applies to: Marketing teams using the Design Flyer Tool.
Editing several elements at once
Select more than one element and you can change the properties they share in the right-hand panel, all in one go. For example, you can set the same font size or colour on five text boxes at once.
- Select the first element.
- Hold Shift and select the others you want to change.
- Update the properties in the right-hand panel.
If the selected elements have different values for a property, that field shows as blank. Enter a value to apply it to all of them.
Note: If an admin has locked an element’s position, size or text style, those locks still apply when it’s part of a multi-selection. See Locking Elements.
Aligning and spacing elements
Align and distribute. Select two or more elements, then use the align options to line up their edges or centres. Use distribute to space them evenly, which is handy for rows of photos, icons or stats.
Rulers and guides. Turn on rulers to see exact measurements around the canvas, and drag guides out to help place elements precisely. Guides make it easy to keep margins consistent from page to page.
Copying, pasting and moving elements
Copy, cut and paste. Use the standard shortcuts to copy, cut and paste elements. Pasting works across pages too, so you can copy a header from page 1 and paste it onto page 3.
Paste images from your clipboard. Copy an image from anywhere on your computer and paste it straight onto the canvas. Images with transparent backgrounds are kept as PNG so the transparency is preserved. All other images are saved as JPEG.
Drag between pages. Pages stack vertically in the editor, so you can drag an element from one page and drop it onto another.
Tables. You can paste spreadsheet data into an existing table, or onto the canvas to create a new one, and copy table cells back out as a grid. See Global Design Settings for more on tables.
Grouping elements
Group elements that belong together, like a photo and its caption, so they move and resize as one.
- Group: select the elements and press Cmd+G.
- Ungroup: select the group and press Cmd+Shift+G.
Text formatting and links
Text in the editor now looks the way it will in your exported PDF. Bold, underline and fonts all match, so what you see on the canvas is what your recipients get.
Add a hyperlink.
- Select the text you want to link.
- Choose the link option. A tooltip opens with the link field ready to fill in.
- Enter the URL and confirm.
The link works in the exported PDF, so recipients can click straight through to a listing page or a broker’s contact details.
Zooming
Zooming in and out is now about 40% faster. Select Fit to fit the page you’re working on to the screen, which is the quickest way to get your bearings in a long flyer.
