Sharing and Publishing Flyers

Marketing documents now follow a simple draft-and-publish flow. You keep editing a flyer as long as you like, and visitors only see your changes once you publish them. This article shows you how to share a flyer on your website and document portal, keep it up to date, and take it down when you no longer need it.

Applies to: Marketing teams using the Design Flyer Tool and SharpLaunch websites.

Where a shared flyer appears

Location Who sees it What you need
Downloads module Visitors on the property website The Downloads module added to the website, and the flyer enabled for it
Document portal People with access to the property’s document portal The document portal set up for the property

Flyers that aren’t shared, or have been unpublished, are never served publicly.

How to share and publish a flyer

  1. Open the flyer in the flyer editor.
  2. Select Publish & Share to open the sharing dialog.
  3. Turn on sharing.
  4. Choose where the flyer should appear: the Downloads section, the document portal, or both.
  5. Select Publish to make the flyer live.

If you chose the Downloads module but the module isn’t on your website yet, the dialog tells you: “This module is turned off on your website, so nobody can see the file — Publish Changes turns it back on.” Selecting Publish Changes turns the module back on so visitors can see the flyer.

Tip: Your edits stay in draft until you publish. You can take your time getting a flyer right before anyone sees it.

Adding a flyer from the Downloads section

You can also start from your website’s Downloads section.

  1. Go to the Downloads section for the property.
  2. Select Add from PDF Flyers.
  3. Pick the flyer you want to add. It opens in the flyer editor.
  4. Select Share, make sure the Downloads module is selected, and publish the flyer.

Updating a published flyer

Property data updates on its own. Everything else waits for you to publish.

What you change Does the live flyer update? What to do
Property data bound to a flyer element (for example price or availability) Yes, automatically Nothing. No save or publish needed.
Static content in the flyer (text, images, layout, shapes) Not until you publish Select Share, then Publish Changes

Until you select Publish Changes, the downloadable flyer on your website stays on the last published version. Your edits are saved safely in draft, so visitors never see a half-finished flyer.

Not sure which elements are bound to property data? Press Cmd+Shift+B (Ctrl+Shift+B on Windows) in the editor to highlight them.

Unpublishing a flyer

  1. Open the flyer and select Share.
  2. Turn off sharing.
  3. Select Unpublish.

The flyer is removed from both the Downloads module and the document portal. It stays in your account, so you can edit it and publish it again whenever you’re ready.

Common questions

I edited my flyer but the website still shows the old version. Static edits stay in draft until you publish. Open the flyer, select Publish & Share, then Publish Changes.

I updated the price, but I didn’t publish. Will the flyer show the new price? Yes. Elements bound to property data update automatically, with no save or publish needed.

My flyer is shared, but nobody can see it on the website. Check that the Downloads module is on your website and that the flyer is enabled for it. If the module is turned off, the sharing dialog will tell you, and Publish Changes turns it back on.

Can I take a flyer down without deleting it? Yes. Turn off sharing and select Unpublish. The flyer stays in your account.
